| (1975–PRESENT) BACKSTORY: Originally an attraction at Disneyland, it was moved to Orlando in 1975.
The Progress City model was no longer part of this show. A new theme song, “Now is the Time,” replaced the Sherman Brothers classic “Great Big, Beautiful Tomorrow.” In 1985, G.E. removed its sponsorship of the attraction; by 1992, the show was renamed “Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress.” The final scene was rewritten, changing the setting from the late 1960’s to a more 1990’s. The Sherman Brothers theme song was also restored at this time. |
