| (March 29, 2008) BACKSTORY: Carlene Thie put together a fantastic tribute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue at the Anaheim Sheraton. In attendance were GH Alumni Wally Boag, Dana Daniels, Jim Adams, and Ron Schneider, as well as Disneyland Legends Marty Sklar, Bob Gurr, and Charles Boyer. Entertainment included the Dapper Dans & the Golden Horseshoe Can-Can Girls (Deedee Bozikis, Arlene Dragon, Janice Gilmore, and Georgeen Whitney). Master of Ceremonies was John Eaden. Jim Adams, Kirk Wall, and Dana Daniels brought the house down with their comedy routines. Art Linkletter, unable to make the evening, sent along a message that it was only a stroke that kept him from attending and paying tribute to Wally Boag. Still, there were plenty of those who came up and told the story of how they saw Boag performing and wished they could be his understudy. Heartfelt tributes from Wally’s son & daughter also added to the evening. |
