BACKSTORY: Bay Street and River Street run parallel to Oglethorpe and Liberty, two other main streets in Savannah, Georgia. Huge spanish moss covered trees line the historic Bay Street that was the primary route used by plantation owners bringing cotton, tobacco and other goods to be shipped overseas from River Street. Along its historic path, you'll find The Cotton Exchange, River Walk, City Hall, and Vic's On The River Restaurant. One block north on River Street you can find The River Street Market, which recreates the sheds that stood on River Street in the mid 1800's.
